Made in Turan

What Is Made in Turan?

In short

Made in Turan is an independent editorial resource documenting manufacturing capacity, industrial strength, and export potential across the Turkic world — Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan. We are not a government body, not a treaty organization, and not the official spokesperson for any state. We are a reference platform explaining these six countries from one place, using current, verifiable data.

About the name

The name reflects the real 'Made in Turan' product-labeling initiative, launched by the Azerbaijan Franchising Association in May 2024. We're not part of that initiative officially, but we exist in part to help bring it to a wider audience.

Why these six countries

The countries we cover were not chosen arbitrarily — each is a full member or observer of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), and together they share a common language family, a shared history, and a deepening framework of economic cooperation. But Made in Turan is not part of that organization. We are a separate editorial initiative looking at this region through the lens of manufacturing and trade.

Why now

The combined economy of the Turkic world (roughly 162.6 million people, $5.93 trillion in GDP at purchasing power parity) is larger than most international buyers assume — yet until now, no independent source has covered these six countries together, with comparable and current data. An international buyer researching sourcing options in this region has had to piece information together from six separate national sources, in six different languages, each with its own reporting standard. Made in Turan fills that gap.

How we work

We compile our content from national statistical agencies, trade data providers (such as UN Comtrade), industry reports, and direct government statements. We update our pages as the data changes, and we always cite our sources. We keep commentary and analysis clearly separate from raw data — you will always be able to tell which is which.

Our independence

Made in Turan is not affiliated with the Organization of Turkic States or any government, and does not speak on their behalf. We do not accept funding from any state or state institution. This is the foundation of both our editorial independence and our responsibility to our readers.
