- Automotive
- Turkiye's single largest export category, at $38.5 billion in 2025; the country produces 1.4 million vehicles a year and is a major supplier of parts and components to European automakers.
- Machinery
- $26 billion in exports in 2025 (2026 target: $29 billion). Turkiye is Europe's 6th-largest machinery manufacturer, with particular strength in CNC machine tools, food-processing equipment, packaging machinery, and textile machinery.
- Textiles & apparel
- 5th in the world. A traditional strength in carpet exports, with significant carpet and apparel volumes sold into the US market.
- White goods
- Europe's #1 producer of household appliances.
- Steel
- 8th in the world.
- Defense & aviation
- Defense and aerospace exports have grown from $248 million in 2002 to $7.15 billion in 2024 and $8.5 billion in 2025. Baykar's drones (Bayraktar TB2, AKINCI) have been exported to 36 countries; in 2025 the company alone exported $2.2 billion, making it the world's largest producer of armed unmanned aerial vehicles. Five Turkish firms — Aselsan, TUSAS, Baykar, Roketsan, and MKE — appear on SIPRI's list of the world's 100 largest defense companies.
- Foreign Trade
- Total exports passed $275 billion in 2024, with a 2025 target of over $300 billion. Leading export markets include the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
